Mother of suspect in Danka Ilic murder case has died

Svetlana Dragijevic, the mother of Dejan, a suspect in the murder of Danka Ilic (2), died last night in the village of Zlot, Telegraf.rs has learned.

According to unofficial information, she had gone to the neighbors for help.

Her husband Radoslav is also in custody on suspicion of helping his son in the crime.

Her other son, Dalibor, died in police custody in Bor after being arrested on suspicion of knowing where his brother Dejan hid the body.

A few hours before her death, Svetlana yesterday spoke for Telegraf.rs.

"I am helpless and ill. I fell in front of the house, on the stairs, and passed out, now I've been lying in bed for days. No one even brings a glass of water to me. No one visits me anymore. Sometimes some neighbor stops by, but rarely, just when they have the time," she said, and added::

"My life is completely ruined. I buried one son, the other is in prison, Rade (the husband) is imprisoned. I can't even go to the doctor alone. I manage any way I can."

Svetlana Dragijevic previously gave her statement only once before the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office, in the presence of lawyer Nebojsa Zivanovic, saying that she knew nothing about the murder of little Danka, and was given the status of privileged witness.

"Radoslav asked that the lawyer be changed, I don't know anything about that. They are supposed to let him go home soon, probably by May 29, and Dejan is in Belgrade. I don't know how this will end, but I know that none of my family is to blame. The police don't come to me anymore, they were here for a while, but enough is enougn," Svetlana Dragijevic said.

Despite her son confessing that he killed Danka Ilic on March 26, Svetlana Dragijevic did not believe that this was true.
