UNMIK says it is closely following Pristina banning Serbian patriarch from entering Kosovo and Metohija
UNMIK (UN mission in Kosovo and Metohija) has announced that it is closely following the case of the ban on entry of Serbian Patriarch Porfirije to Kosovo and Metohija.
"SRSG Ziadeh is closely following the denial of entry of Serbian Patriarch Porfirije to Kosovo to attend the session of the Holy Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church," a post on X said, adding:
"While maintaining freedom of movement is a requirement, in line with existing agreements, access to religious sites is an indispensable component of the full realization of human rights, and in particular, the right to practice religion by all communities."
UNMIK also said that "the SRSG reiterates her calls for constructive engagement to resolve outstanding issues through the EU-facilitated dialogue and to prioritize dialogue over unilateral action."
