New witnesses in Danka Ilic (2) murder case: The child's body has not yet been found
The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Zajecar has scheduled the questioning of new witnesses in connection with the investigation into Dejan Dragijevic and Srdjan Jankovic, the suspects in the murder of 2-year-old Danka Ilic. The witnesses will be heard on May 27 and 28.
The prosecutor's office told Tanjug that part of the DNA examination of the samples taken from the car driven by the suspects was completed, and that the toddler's DNA was not found.
They added that expert examination of the movements of the suspects' vehicles based on a GPS device is underway, while the psychiatric evaluation of the suspects has been completed, but the findings and expert opinion have not yet been submitted to the prosecutor's office.
In addition to Dragijevic and Jankovic, Dejan's father is also in custody, on suspicion that he helped his son move the girl's body.
Dejan's brother, Dalibor Dragijevic, died on April 7 in police custody in Bor.
Two-year-old Danka Ilic disappeared on March 26 in Banjsko polje near the town of Bor, and after a 10-day search and detailed checks of all clues and information, Srdjan J. and Dragan D. from Bor were arrested.
They are suspected of hitting the girl with a car, and then putting the body in the trunk and taking it to a garbage dump.
