Vucic: Serbia is proud of its steely friendship with China

President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said during the official ceremony to welcome President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan in Belgrade on Wednesday that Serbia is a small and proud country, whose people have a big heart that know how to value true friendship.

"I am convinced, respected President Xi, that during this visit you will feel at least a part of the respect and affection that the citizens of Serbia have for China, whose history, culture and people they sincerely admire.

We remember that you stood with us when it was most difficult for us and when many they neither wanted nor dared to do that.

We are grateful for the attention you pay to our country, as well as the strategic partnership that has opened up unimagined potential for development and progress," Vucic wrote on his Instagram page "buducnostsrbijeav".

The president of Serbia said that Serbia is proud of its steely friendship with China.

He pointed out that we will continue to work together to the benefit of our peoples, as well as for a better and more just world, based on the principles of equality, fairness and respect in international relations, which, he stated, are so rare today.

"I am convinced, respected President Xi, that during this visit you will feel at least a part of the respect and affection that the citizens of Serbia have for China, whose history, culture and people they sincerely admire," said the president of Serbia.
