Serbian Army NCO seriously injured during exercise, another falls into water, search launched to find him

A Serbian Army (VS) non-commissioned officer was seriously injured today during an exercise organized in the area of the the Danube-Tisa-Danube canal, while another, also an NCO, was still being searched for on Monday afternoon after falling into the water, the Ministry of Defense has announced.

According to a statement, the incident occurred during regular training activities involving landing from a helicopter on the water surface of the Danube-Tisa-Danube canal.

The accident happened in the military complex Oresac, around 12:15 today.

The military exercise was carried out by members of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade.

After receiving first aid, the injured NCO was immediately transfered to the General Hospital in the town of Vrsac.

The public will be informed about the results of the search for the missing member of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade, as well as about the condition of the injured soldier, the statement said.
