President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said today that he expects Serbia to get a new government in 10 to 15 days, before the May holidays, and that the Great Assembly with the Serb Republic (RS) will happen with that government in place.

"To welcome (Orthodox) Easter and the Great Assembly with the Serb Republic with a new government, that would make sense," Vucic told RTS.

He added that there may be minor shifts, but that he hopes that deputies will not mind if it turns out they will have to work during the May Day holiday (preceding Easter that will be celebrated on May 5).

Vucic also said that he was satisfied with the previous government, but that there must be some changes and that the PM-designate should make those decisions.

"I believe that there will be new ministers, some will remain, there will be new allocations, but I believe that there will be more, new energy. I am satisfied with the work of the previous government, a lot of good things have been done, but there is always some change and some new blood that is good for new energy and I believe that will be there," said Vucic.

Vucic also stressed that the main goal of the new government will be to protect vital national and state interests and that it will stay on the freedom-loving course.

"Protection of vital national and state interests, for the country to be on the European path, but not to renounce its traditional friends. This is the freedom-loving and only possible course. I am sure that the new government will stay on the that course and on the course of Serbia," said Vucic.

He added that we should work as much as possible and that investments in EXPO 2027 and other projects will continue.

The president pointed out that he will tour all the projects, that a lot of work is being done, even at night, that builders work in three shifts on the railway to Subotica, and that now much more work is also being done on the railway leading to Dimitrovgrad.

"We will fight without fear because they have brought us to this point, to a corner where we can do nothing but to defend ourselves with all our might. We will defend ourselves, but we will also defend the freedom-loving world, and unfortunately for them, we will be much more successful than they think," concluded Vucic.
