Aleksandar Vulin said that, "if reinstating the death penalty is the reason for Serbia's exit from the Council of Europe, so be it."

"Not a single big admirer of the European Union from our non-governmental sector came forward to say that membership of so-called Kosovo is incompatible with Serbia's membership in the Council of Europe (CoE), but they are worried that Serbia could withdraw from the Council of Europe if, like the United States, it has the death penalty for monsters that kill children.

If the reinstatement of the death penalty is the reason for Serbia's exit from the Council of Europe, so be it," said Aleksandar Vulin, responding to some non-governmental sector representatives saying that bringing back the death penalty in Serbia is not compatible with membership in the Council of Europe.
