Serbia, but also the entire region, has been shaken by the tragic fate of 2-year-old Danka Ilic, who died after being hit by a car, after which the two suspects, as they told the police, threw her body at a nearby garbage dump.

Residents of Bor, as well as those in the nearby settlement Banjsko Polje, where the accident happened, have been lighting candles since yesterday at the site, but also in the town itself, in memory of the little girl.

"We are speechless with shock and pain. All the time we hoped that the little angel would still appear, that she would be alive and well. We are deeply shaken by this situation that happened here," locals told RINA.

Two employees of the Vodovod utility company from Bor are suspects in the case of Danka's death, and they have confessed to the crime. They were on a work assignment in a company car when the accident happened.

Instead of helping the child and calling the police, they put the body in the vehicle and then threw it away.

The body of the unfortunate girl has not yet been found.
