Everyone who was near the place where 2-year-old Danka disappeared questioned: Police checking parents' phones
The search for the missing 2-year-old girl Danka Ilic from Banjsko Polje, near Bor, eastern Serbia continues for the third day, although last night the police called off the search of the area near the family home itself, saying that it was ascertained the child was no longer within the 10 square kilometers around the place where she disappeared.
The police are currently checking mobile operators' base stations and examining the parents' phones, in order to confirm who they were in contact with during the period the toddler went missing.
The search is therefore now carried out operationally, reports Tanjug. The police will also question people who were in the vicinity immediately before or after the girl's disappearance, in order to determine details that may have been missed during the ongoing investigation.
It was also noted that during the night there was information that Danka Ilic had been found, which turned out to be incorrect.
Everyone who was in the immediate vicinity of Danka Ilic is under suspicion, which, as Tanjug's reporter notes, does not mean that they are considered guilty.
After the disappearance, more than 500 people joined in the search, including members of the Interior Ministry - police, Gendarmes, Criminal Police Directorate, Helicopter Unit, Emergency Situations Sector, Traffic Police, local police in Bor, as well as the Mountain Rescue Service and members of a voluntary firefighting association.
Danka Ilic disappeared on Tuesday around 13:45, and was at the time wearing purple pants, an olive green jacket, with her hair tied in a ponytail.
The "Pronadji me" ("Find me," Serbian version of Amber Alert) system was activated for the first time on Tuesday, and as stated on the website pronadjime.mup.gov.rs, the toddler has brown hair, brown eyes, and is about 85 centimeters tall.
