Former Assembly president and deputy SNS leader: New government will be formed within legal deadline
Orlic said that in the absence of results showing that people have given their trust for a reason, holding political office becomes meaningless
Vice President of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) and until recently the president of the Serbian Assembly Vladimir Orlic said today that a new government will be formed within the legal deadline, and that we need stability, security, patience and wisdom in a globally challenging moment.
He stressed that the citizens of Serbia have put their trust in the SNS thanks to the results that the party achieved in the previous period, and that this is the path it will follow in the future as well.
When asked if he sees himself in Nemanjina Street 11, the seat of the Government of Serbia, that is, as a member of the cabinet, he said that holding political office is less important than policies.
"All of us in SNS answer that question in the same way. Our greatest desire is for Serbia to be stable and successful, which is made possible by the policies to which we belong, body and soul. When you look at the results of that, you are honored to be a part of it," Orlic told TV Pink.
Orlic said that in the absence of results showing that people have given their trust for a reason, holding political office becomes meaningless.
"You must have results in the first place, and that is the most important thing," emphasized Orlic.
He criticized the opposition for its behavior in the National Assembly during the last session, stating that the greatest punishment for them is for people to see that behavior.
Orlic also said that during the previous days, on the occasion of commemorating the 25th anniversary of the start of the NATO bombing of Serbia, the opposition made a series of inaccurate and unfounded accusations against the government, presenting it as directly responsible for the bombing.
He assessed that the main problem of the opposition is the absence of policy, and that the only thing that unites them is the hatred towards the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic.
"Their biggest problem is that Vucic is in power and they are not. If they were and Vucic was not on the political scene, everything would be perfect as far as they are concerned," said Orlic.
