Serbian and Hungarian ministers meet in Sochi: Danica Grujicic and Peter Szijjarto discuss cooperation

Minister of Health Danica Grujicic is representing Serbia at the International Forum ATOMEXPO 2024, which is held in Sochi, the Russian Federation.

The largest international forum dedicated to nuclear energy in the world gathered representatives from 75 countries, 4,500 participants, including ministers and representatives of governmental agencies, the largest companies from the global nuclear industry, as well as numerous international experts.

Immediately upon her arrival in Sochi, Minister Grujicic met Hungary's Minister of Foreign Affairs Peter Szijjarto. On that occasion, many topics related to opportunities for cooperation in the field of healthcare, especially concerning oncology, were opened, considering that both Serbia and Hungary have a large number of patients and a high mortality rate from cancer.

A special topic was cooperation in the field of nuclear medicine, which Minister Grujicic always emphasizes as the future in the treatment of patients, as Hungary has developed the Center for Nuclear Medicine in Debrecen. In this sense, there was talk about our experts visiting this Center.

One of the topics was cross-border cooperation to develop healthcare institutions along the state borders on both sides, in order to facilitate healthcare for the citizens of Serbia and Hungary, especially in cases of emergency.

The Serbian and Hungarian minister exchanged invitations to visit each others' countries, as other topics of future cooperation were also discussed at the meeting.

Serbian Minister of Health Danica Grujicic will today also address and represent Serbia at the main plenary session of the ATOMEXPO 2024 International Forum, together with other top state officials and experts from around the world.
