In the Russian presidential election, held from March 15 to 18, Putin won 87.28 percent of the vote

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic met on Tuesday afternoon with Ambassador of the Russian Federation Aleksandr Botsan-Kharchenko, to whom he handed a letter for President of Russia Vladimir Putin.

In the letter, Vucic congratulated Putin on his election victory, and also explained the difficult situation faced by the Serb people in Kosovo and Metohija.

"I used the conversation with Ambassador Botsan-Kharchenko to hand him a letter for President of the Russian Federation Putin, in which, in addition to congratulating him on the election victory, I explained the gravity of the situation faced by the Serb people in Kosovo and Metohija, the significant political challenges facing Serbia, along with expressing gratitude to the Russian Federation for the support it provides to the territorial integrity of Serbia," wrote Vucic on his Instagram account "buducnostsrbijeav".
