Colder weather and snow coming to these areas of Serbia: Up to 10 centimeters of new snow expected

This Monday in Serbia will be partly cloudy, with sunny spells and only in some places with rain or local and short-lasting showers. The maximum temperature will be from 12° Celsius in the northwest to 18°C in the south and southeast of Serbia, and up to 14°C in Belgrade.

During the evening, the western and southwestern regions of Serbia will be affected by stronger cloud cover with rain and showers. This cloudiness with precipitation overnight and on Tuesday will spread further east and south.

At the same time, it will remain dry in the northern and central regions of Serbia.

The heaviest rain is expected in the south and southwest of Serbia, with 10 to 20 millimeters of rain per square meter.

Snow is expected in the night between Monday and Tuesday and on Tuesday before noon in the regions of southern, western, southwestern and southeastern Serbia that are over 1,300 meters above sea level. About 10 centimeters of new snow is likely to fall there.

It will still rain on many mountains, while snow will fall on the highest parts of Zlatibor, Zlatar, Golija, Kopaonik, on the higher-lying parts of Pester, on the mountains in Kosovo and Metohija, Stara Planina, Suva Planina, Kukavica mountains...

In these areas, the temperature is expected to drop to -2 to 0°C, while in lower areas it will range from 3 to 7°C. It will be dry and clear in the northern province of Vojvodina, where the minimum temperature will be 1°C due to higher precipitation, and there may be frost at the ground level.

This weather deterioration will be conditioned by the penetration of a cold front, and on Tuesday, strong and very strong northwesterly wind will blow in the east of Serbia, on the mountains and in Pomoravlje, locally with storm gusts of 60 kilometers per hour.

Today, there is snow on mountains 1,500 meters above sea level - on Mt. Kopaonik about 8 centimeters.

On Tuesday, the snow line will drop to 1,200-1,300 meters, early in the morning locally even lower.

On Tuesday afternoon, precipitation will stop in all regions of Serbia, and as the sky will be clear, the morning in most regions will bring light frost.

Warmer weather is expected from Thursday.
