They were on their way to plan a wedding when tragedy struck: 2 people died, driver faces criminal complaint

I.A. from Belgrade, a driver who on March 9 on caused a traffic accident on the Nis-Pirot road near Niska Banja that resulted in the death of two people, will have a criminal complaint filed against him.

We have learned that he is suspected of committing a serious offense against the safety of public traffic when he drove his Citroen off the highway, for reasons yet to be determined, causing the vehicle to overturn.

The man's 55-year-old wife died instantly, while V.S. (22) from Pirot, the sister of the fiance of his daughter, L.A., passed away in the hospital.

L.A. is still in the Nis University Clinical Center, having suffered a serious kidney injury for which she underwent surgery, and is currently in stable condition.

I.A. himself escaped with only minor injuries.

We have learned that they were on their way from Belgrade to Pirot to arrange the details of the wedding between L.A. and V.S.'s brother, when the car drove off the road.

For now, there is no information as to what caused the accident, but it is believed that the driver was speeding.
