Friend finds former Ruma cafe owner murdered in his home: Door was unlocked, inspectors confused by one thing
The body of a former owner of a cafe in the town of Ruma, Zoran O. (68), was found in his house last night by a friend. The suspicion was first aroused because victim failed to answer his phone for a few days, so a friend decided to drop by, Telegraf.rs has learned.
The door was allegedly unlocked.
Since last night, the police have been searching Ruma, looking for one or more killers.
Unofficially, Zoran was shot to death.
According to neighbors, Zoran O. had sold his cafe, so it is suspected that the motive for the crime was to steal the money he was believed to have in his possession.
"Inspectors were told that the house was unlocked, which indicates that Zoran knew the person who would eventually kill him. Friends of the victim told the police that Zoran kept 'dangerous dogs', but that none of them were heard barking because they probably knew the suspect, too. The police took several recordings from security cameras," said our source.
The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Sremska Mitrovica has been informed about the case.
According to unofficial information, there was a lot of blood on the walls of the room where Zoran was found dead, which indicates that he fought the killer or even tried to escape.
