Xi's birthday message to Vucic: "You are politician with strategic vision"

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic received today, on the occasion of his birthday, a congratulatory message from President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping, in which the Chinese leader expressed sincere congratulations and good wishes and stressed that Vucic is a politician who has strategic vision and and always cares about the interests of the people.

"I am glad that under your leadership, Serbia is advocating for independence and safeguarding its national interests, while the economic and social development and improvement of the living standard of the citizens are showing outstanding results. As a long-standing friend of the Chinese people, you firmly advocate advancing Sino-Serbian relations and cooperation in various fields, for which I express my deep appreciation," the message reads.

Xi recalled that he and Vucic met last year during the 3rd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation and that they discussed friendship, cooperation plans, and reached a broad consensus, pointing to a new direction in the development of bilateral relations, the Serbian president's press office quoted from Xi's letter.

"I attach great importance to the development of relations between China and Serbia. I am ready to make joint efforts with you in order to advance the comprehensive Sino-Serbian strategic partnership to an even higher level and contribute even more to the benefit of both peoples. I expect to meet with you again. I wish you much health and success," Xi wrote.
