Man from Jagodina arrested on suspicion of spying on state authorities and on Serbian Army
In a joint action carried out by members of the Security Information Agency (BIA) and the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office (VJT) Jagodina - as part of the further investigation and prosecution of a group of persons who made up an espionage ring in the territory of our country, led by D.R. on the orders of the State Intelligence Service of Albania (SHISH) and the so-called "Intelligence Agency of Kosovo" - another member of that group has been arrested.
We have learned that this is P.M. from Jagodina, a citizen of Serbia, who was arrested while returning from abroad. He is suspected of the criminal offense of espionage and is being detained for up to 30 days.
It is suspected that P.M. was, on the order of D.R., engaged in the collection and delivery of data on the movements of representatives of state authorities and the Serbian Army in the area of central Serbia.
The collected data was delivered to the leader of this spy ring, D.R., who forwarded it to members of the intelligence services of Albania and so-called Kosovo, for which he and others received money, while the two agencies, apart from using it for their needs, also used the information in their attempts to discredit the Republic of Serbia internationally.
Members of BIA uncovered and, early this year, broke up the spy network in the territory of our country, arresting its leader, D.R., a citizen of Serbia, on suspicion of being an associate of the State Intelligence Service of Albania during 2022, and of acting on their orders and carrying out the assigned tasks, until his arrest.
It is suspected that with the mediation of Albania's spy agency D.R. established contact with a security structure that operates under the authority of the provisional Pristina institutions, the so-called "Intelligence Agency of Kosovo". In addition to D.R., A.D. from Novi Pazar was arrested a few days later, who is also suspected of being a part of this spy group.
With his network of associates D.R. was collecting data on individual members of the security services of Serbia and Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija, and was involved during crisis situations in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, during protests and at the barricades. He also secretly filmed the movements of the Serbian security forces in the area of the Raska municipality, primarily Serbian Army units, and this happened on several occasions.
D.R.'s intention was to collect as much video material as possible about the "targets" and deliver it to the intelligence service of Albania. As part of the investigation, members of BIA found, among other things, a camera and a solar panel that powered it, as well as an SD card. These items were recovered in the village of Karadak, near Raska.
