Danica Grujicic tells Telegraf.rs about unvaccinated children: That will happen less with Torlak's development
The minister, on the other hand, stressed there is no truth to the stories that imported vaccines are not effective and safe, and she recalled that they are checked by Torlak and ALIMS
Professor Dr. Danica Grujicic told Telegraf.rs that the fact that there are children who have not been vaccinated according to the mandatory immunization calendar, and yet attend school regularly, will probably be the subject of a joint meeting of expert state committees for immunology, pediatrics and infectious diseases.
She said that with the further development of the Institute for Virology, Vaccines and Serums Torlak, there will be fewer and fewer such cases.
"We will strive to form the National Team for Vaccines precisely from these three expert state committees. Maybe some legal acts and regulations will have to be passed," the minister told Telegraf.rs.
She added that with the strengthening of Serbia's own capabilities and the development of the Torlak Institute, there will be fewer and fewer people who do not vaccinate their children.
"This does not mean that imported vaccines are not safe. It is precisely Torlak that checks their quality, ALIMS (Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices) does the same, on the other hand, stories about imported vaccines that are not effective are not true," Minister Grujicic said.
She revealed that at the end of February, cornerstones would be laid for new Torlak laboratories.
"This is proof of how much Serbia is investing, how much the Torlak Institute is recognized as a national treasure that must be kept. All the talk of selling and letting go (of it) no longer applies. This will represent proof of how much we want to rebuild our own production of vaccines and also the trust, so that people do not simply succumb to any story they read on the internet," Professor Dr. Grujicic told Telegraf.rs.
