We find out why child (15) who got infected with measles was not vaccinated with MMR vaccine
The child (15) who got infected with measles was not vaccinated with the MMR vaccine for medical reasons, Telegraf.rs has learned.
He was diagnosed with measles two days ago, on February 6, at the Virology, Vaccines and Serum Institute Torlak, and yesterday it was confirmed that his mother also has measles.
As we have already reported, they got infected abroad. First the mother, then the child.
We have also learned that the mother had been vaccinated, as was the boy's sister, who did not get sick.
All persons with whom the boy and the mother have been in contact are now being checked.
"I must say that the boy's mother was also diagnosed with this disease. The mother of the sick boy had symptoms before him, there was also suspected pneumonia and she had measles," Dr. Slavica Marisic from the Public Health Institute told TV Pink this morning.
The 15-year-old who fell ill is at the Clinic for Infectious and Tropical Diseases at the University Clinic Center of Serbia in Belgrade, sick with pneumonia.
