Video of attack on Red Star basketballer Nemanja Bjelica in kids' playground: Suspect threatened to stab him
Petkovic has been detained for up to 48 hours and was today questioned
Basketball player Nemanja Bjelica was attacked in a children's playground in Belgrade. On suspicion of insulting the athlete and threatening to stab him, Nikola Petkovic, a former footballer, has been arrested.
As can be seen in a video obtained from a surveillance camera installed in the game room, Bjelica was sitting at a table when a man approached him and leaned towards him. Although the video has no sound, the two can be seen arguing.
Petkovic then started walking away from the table, but stopped several times to say something to Bjelica, then returned, knelt on the chair and leaned on the table next to it, again towards the basketballer.
After that, he is seen going toward the counter.

According to unofficial information, at the moment Petkovic leaned towards the basketball player, he uttered threats directed at his wife and children.
It is suspected that when he went to the counter, he took a pair scissors and told Bjelica that he was going to stab him with them.
Petkovic has been detained for up to 48 hours and during his questioning today, denied any wrongdoing.
He is known to the public because of his past "problematic" behavior.
