Luckily, the Argentine put his hands in front of the chair in time so he didn't suffer more serious consequences

At the end of the match against Tomas Etcheverry, Novak Djokovic played an incredible drop shot, as a result of which the Argentine almost got injured.

Novak cut the ball's trajectory perfectly, so much so that even the fast Argentine could not catch it. Instead Etcheverry ran as well as he could to reach that ball, but failed.

However, he almost injured himself as well in the process, because he charged so hard he barely managed to stop in time, so he almost hit the umpire's chair.

He even hit the post holding the chair, but managed to put his hands in front and avoid a direct crash.

See for yourself what it looked like:

In the end, Novak beat the excellent Argentinian 6-3, 6-3, 7-6 and will now square off against Adrian Mannarino, who surprised Ben Shelton and prevented a potential "blockbuster" match between Djokovic and the young American in this season's Australian Open round of 16.
