Today is an ICE DAY in these parts of Serbia: Another warning is in effect, be careful
The sub-zero spell continues in Serbia. For the second day in a row, the temperature dropped to -15 degrees Celsius, again in Sremska Mitrovica. In most areas, minimum morning temperatures ranged from -12 to -6°C, in Belgrade it was -7°C in the center and -10°C on the outskirts of the city.
This morning, despite the fact that the skies over most of Serbia are clear, it was foggy and gloomy in many areas, with low cloud cover especially in the lowlands, valleys, basins and in the wider area of Belgrade, while it was completely clear on hills and mountains.
Before noon, temperatures ranged from -10 to -3°C. The coldest was still Sremska Mitrovica with -10°C, while Belgrade and many other regions measured -7°C. It is coldest precisely in regions with fog.
Today, Serbia and our area are one of the coldest in Europe, and today it is colder here than in Moscow, and parts of northern Europe.
Extreme caution is recommended in traffic, as visibility is locally reduced to less than 100 meters, while it is generally reduced to 250 to 500 meters.
Similar weather is expected during the day. In many areas, an "ice day" is expected and the maximum temperature, along with fog, will be from -4 to 0°C. It will be sunny in the north of the province of Vojvodina, in the extreme south and southeast of Serbia and in Negotinska Krajina, with temperatures up to 4°C.
Today, a strong northwesterly wind blows in the east of Serbia and on the mountains, and very strongly in Negotinska Krajina and on the mountains of eastern Serbia.
The very cold weather will continue in the coming days, with frost in the mornings and temperatures down to -10°C, in places even colder, while the temperature will not rise above zero in many areas throughout the whole day.
On Saturday, in the mountains in the east of Serbia, in the Branicevo district and in Pomoravlje, very light snow is also expected.
