Minister Vucevic is explicit: Don't touch Serb Republic and Serbs, and you will have strong Bosnia-Herzegovina
Serbian Minister of Defense Milos Vucevic also referred to the events of the last few days in Bosnia and Herzegovina - the burning of the Serbian flag in Zenica, accompanied by the shouts of "Allahu Akbar" and told B92 TV that there are increasingly strong attempts to change the Dayton Agreement to the detriment of Serb Republic.
"The thing I see is that we didn't burn anyone's flags. And if some representative of the Serb people ever did that, it was to the shame of our country. We do not burn anyone's flags, we neither burn nor touch anyone's churches and mosques. It is neither a part of our religion nor of the people's being. I don't mind anyone who shouts their religious slogans, but as long as they don't make it equal to their hatred of the Serb people.
If I represented the political Sarajevo, I would always look to embrace the Serb Republic, because that would be the path to strengthening. You can't be stronger if you say every day that it is a disruptive factor. For Serbs in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serb Republic is a symbol of freedom, a condition for the survival of Serbs in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As a result of the great struggle in the patriotic war, over 30,000 members of the Serb Republic army and citizens of the Serb Republic died in that fight," Dnevnik.rs reports Vucevic as saying.
The minister stressed that the Serb Republic was created by the political will of the Serb people in Bosnia and Herzegovina, on January 9, 1992, before the beginning of any conflict.
"It was not created during the war, but in a peaceful period, so as not to lose consensus. This attempt to abolish the Serb Republic is not something that leads to the homogenization of Bosnia and Herzegovina. As far as the Republic of Serbia is concerned, we recognize the integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Unlike BiH, which does not recognize our territorial sovereignty and integrity. Serbia's position is that the Dayton Agreement and the peace accords can eventually be changed with the consent of all three peoples and two constituent entities. All I hope is that there is common sense for the three peoples living there to reach an agreement, and not for someone to impose it on them.
It's like in the colonial era, when the governor tells us if we are literate and if we know each other. We know each other very well. The Dayton Agreement is constantly being changed to the detriment of the Serb Republic. It is unbelievable to me that someone is trying to ban the celebration of January 9. If it is an important date for the entire Serb people, why does it bother you? It (the establishment of RS) didn't happen because of St. Stefan, that's when the assembly took place. Coincidentally, it is a religious date. This fact also determined the patron saint of the Serb Republic. Do not touch the Serb Republic and the Serbs in BiH and you will have a strong BiH."
