Djokovic loses a match in Australia after 2,172 days: Do you remember who defeated him the last time?
Every streak comes to an end, and so Novak Djokovic's triumphant one on Australian soil had to, as well. But that's fine - better now during the United Cup - than a bit later at the Australian Open!
Namely, on Wednesday, Djokovic lost his first match in Australia in six years, i.e. after losing to Chung Hyeon in the 4th round of the 2018 Australian Open.
This time, Alex De Minaur was better than Novak, ending the Serbian tennis star's 43 streak of consecutive matches won and 2,172 days undefeated in Australia.
De Minaur won 6-4 6-4 in the quarterfinals of the United Cup.
It must be noted that Djokovic had serious problems with a wrist injury that he has had since playing against Jiri Lehecka in the competition's group stage.
