Vucic: We will preserve peace and stability in Serbia, I will always be with my people, I'm not afraid

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said today that he is not afraid of thugs and that he will always be with his people, as well as that peace and stability in the country will be preserved.

"I am the one who was on the balcony, who was in the Presidency, at my workplace, and I did not get scared by you at all and I will not let you destroy Serbia," Vucic said in a video taken at the Presidency of Serbia and posted on Instagram, addressing opposition protesters who last night entered the Belgrade City Assembly by force.

He said that from time to time it seems to him that political opponents, as well as their mentors from the outside, think that everyone in this country is an idiot and that no one has eyes and ears, and that no one understands what has happened.

"Everyone saw that for almost three hours the policemen and the property of the citizens of Serbia were under brutal attack by those who decided to destroy democracy in Serbia and the electoral will of our people. Everybody saw it, but they want to gaslight us, to play with Serbia, to make us all feel crazy. And in the sea of lies that they were spreading last night and today, only one thing was true, and that is that they saw a man who looked like Vucic, who was in this very place where I am now, where they booed him," said the president.

Vucic confirmed that it was true and that it was him who was on the balcony last night.

"It is absolutely true, I was on the balcony of the Presidency, at my workplace, I was not afraid of them at all, I did not run away to any foreign country, I did not hide in any bunker and I will never hide from thugs. I will always be with our people, we will defend and preserve democracy, we will defend and preserve peace and stability in our Serbia. Long live Serbia," said Vucic.
