Destruction! Sapic shows damage done to Old Palace after incursion by protestors

President of the Provisional Authority of the City of Belgrade Aleksandar Sapic assessed that the attack on the City Assembly is not only a case of savagery, but something that can only be done by people without any awareness or responsibility.

Last night, he toured the building of the Old Palace where the City Assembly of Belgrade is located, and showed the damage done (by opposition SPN coalition protesters).

"You had the opportunity to see what the Old Palace looks like, a building under protection, built in 1881, the salon is from the 19th century with original furniture and the damage is irreparable. To break into an institution of the state in this way in an attempt to reach whatever goal proves that what I said five days ago was not my whim or an attempt at political marketing. I said that if we allow ourselves to fight for political goals with violence and destruction of the state, we will soon enough not have a state.

Now you see how true the term 'Maidanization' was. A normal person cannot just 'digest' this, let alone comment, but I will once again appeal to all those who think differently that if you are trying to come to power through anarchy, it means that you have destroyed the state, which tomorrow will not be able to even protect the people you think you should fight for," said Sapic.

He expressed great gratitude to the police, who he said reacted in the most tolerant way possible, made several warnings, and as an epilogue to that, two police officers were seriously injured.

"I want to make an appeal once again that if we don't come to our senses it will be too late later, that those who are attacking will meet those who are defending themselves and that will be the beginning of a civil war. That's the last thing we need. I hope this is the last episode of this kind, because if it's not, we'll all in for dark times and it won't matter who's in power. Electoral will is shown in elections, and institutions are entered through legal means and not in this way," stressed Sapic.
