Zakharova: West has great desire for "Maidan" to happen in Serbia and Balkans

The West has a great desire to carry out "a Maidan" in Serbia and the Balkans, said the spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, commenting on the situation in Serbia after the elections.

"All those supposed (opposition) rallies are not rallies at all, but simply taking people to the streets to achieve the goals that are not in line with democratic processes, and with the goal of promoting Western interests by using unconstitutional means that contradict internal laws.

All this indicates that the West has a huge the desire to implement 'Maidan' in the Balkans, and what that leads to is best seen in the example of Ukraine, as a model of what neither a people nor a state should not do," Zakharova told a press briefing.

According to her, the people of Serbia will resolve everything by themselves.
