Vucic thanks Xi Jinping for his New Year's card: He is a great friend of Serbia

President Aleksandar Vucic has thanked Chinese President Xi Jinping for his New Year's greeting card.

"He is a great friend of Serbia and I thank him endlessly. They did this very nicely.

I hope that next year I will have the opportunity to host him again here in Serbia, and that would be a great honor for me," Vucic said during a tour of initial construction works on the northern ring road around Kragujevac.

When asked what the Chinese president wished him for the New Year, he said that "the card he received is very nice."

Chinese President Xi Jinping, together with his wife Peng Liyuan, has congratulated Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on the upcoming year, Tanjug learned yesterday from the Presidency of Serbia.

This was the first New Year's message that President Vucic has received ahead of 2024.

The greeting card, which shows a part of the Great Wall of China, reads "Happy New Year" in Chinese and in English.
