In order to make it easier for abandoned dogs this winter, the animal protection association Pit from the town of Nis is inviting citizens and animal lovers to make packages with various types of dog food and leave them in their premises on weekdays from 11 am to 4 pm, Juzne Vesti writes.

The life of abandoned dogs is especially difficult during the winter, when it is harder for them to find food and shelter from the cold, so the association Pit is organizing another campaign to make the upcoming period easier for them.

"On the occasion of the upcoming New Year's holidays, we organized the campaign, 'Be Father Frost (Serbian version of Santa Clause) for one day'. The campaign is intended to benefit abandoned dogs. Make packets of your own choice - kibble, treats, cans," said the association.

Citizens who are willing to respond to this campaign can leave packages under the New Year Tree at the office of the association, located in Stanoja Bunusevca Street, 177.

By giving small symbolic gifts, let them also feel loved and aware that we are thinking about them - those behind the campaign concluded.

The same association also managed to get the money from the funds for New Year's fireworks in that town diverted to humanitarian purposes.
