President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic is in Dubai for the UN Climate Change Conference, where he spoke with President of the European Council Charles Michel, among others.

"Extremely important and good conversation. We discussed all strategic issues of importance for Serbia and Europe. I am convinced that in the years ahead, Serbia will open the door to full membership in the EU," the president wrote on his Instagram account.

President Vucic was welcomed by the hosts of this year's event, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahya, the president of the United Arab Emirates, and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

Before the opening ceremony, he also met with President of Poland Andrzej Duda, King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, President of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides, President of Hungary Katalin Novak, as well as the Secretary General of NATO Jens Stoltenberg.

"It's time for concrete action, because we have to act quickly and efficiently. Serbia is always ready," wrote Vucic on "buducnostsrbijeav."

This year, there was a record number of heads of state and government for the event, 170 participants. After the arrival of all the dignitaries, the official opening ceremony followed with the address by the UAE president.

After that the other participants, including President Vucic, will address the audience. Almost all world leaders are in Dubai, with some exceptions being US President Joseph Biden, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Pope Francis, who canceled his participation for health reasons.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Vucic will have a series of bilateral encounters with numerous high-ranking officials.

A warm meeting with Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi also took place.
