You have been walking in the footsteps of heroes for 109 years: Vucic congratulates Army Day

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic sent a congratulatory message today on the occasion of November 16 - Army Day, in which he says that he is confident that with their engagement the military will continue to make an exceptional contribution to the development of their service, the safety of every citizen and the stability of the Republic of Serbia as a whole.

"I congratulate November 16 to all members of the Land Army. Walking in the footsteps of the heroes who with unwavering faith and hope stormed for the freedom of their homeland on November 16, 1914, during the Battle of Kolubara, you have successfully kept the memory alive for one hundred and nine years by inheriting the traditions of the Land Army.

The Land Army, as the most numerous and well-equipped branch of the Serbian Armed Forces, manages to successfully respond to all the challenges posed by the tasks and missions that have been set before you with excellent organization, careful selection of personnel and demanding training.

In the past period, members of your units have proven that - despite many pressures and provocations they were exposed to, especially when securing the administrative line with Kosovo and Metohija and controlling the Ground Safety Zone, their steel will and high level of professionalism in protecting the state territory and citizens of the Republic of Serbia - no matter where they are, nothing can break them," Vucic wrote.

The president said that in the continuation of the reforms that have been started, as a key factor of the Serbian Army in the modern military organization, in accordance with the adopted, checked and confirmed international standards and criteria, as before, it will always have the support of the state.

"I congratulate you on the holiday, I am confident that with your engagement you will continue to make an exceptional contribution to the development of your service, the safety of every citizen and the stability of the Republic of Serbia as a whole," President Vucic's congratulatory message states.
