Historic day for Serbian sport: Comtrade and Belgrade Marathon sign five-year contract

The Comtrade company and the Belgrade Marathon today signed a five-year title sponsorship contract. The president and owner of Comtrade, Veselin Jevrosimovic, and Darko Habus, director of the Belgrade Marathon, initialed the contract during a press conference.

The first Belgrade Marathon, which will have the Comtrade company in its name, will be held on April 28, 2024.

Comtrade has been helping Serbian athletics for years, and this contract represents yet more evidence that there is no doubt that the sports event in Serbia with the largest number of participants will rise to an even higher level with this kind of support.

At the press conference held at the Comtrade IT club, Darko Habus thanked the largest IT company in the region for recognizing the energy that the Belgrade Marathon invests in the development of street races, and he is convinced that this will help the Belgrade Marathon become the best in the region, and among the top five in Europe.

"This is a historic day for the Belgrade Marathon, I would like to thank the Comtrade company for recognizing the energy we invest in the development of street street races and this signing of the contract introduces them to the Belgrade Marathon family. This five-year cooperation will mean the Belgrade Marathon can plan ahead everything we have envisaged, that we will systematically grow and achieve our goal, which is to become the No. 1 marathon in the region and one of the top five organized in Europe, and we will do everything to make that happen.

As a former track and field athlete, Veselin Jevrosimovic is well aware of all the difficulties that our beloved sport is facing. With your efforts and work at the Athletics Federation of Serbia, you have produced champions who are now breaking records that are 30 years old or more, bringing many medals from all major global competitions. And on the other hand, as someone who is at the helm of the largest IT company in the region, you have proven that professionalism and systematic work, along with immense love and dedication you have, is an ideal combination and that you continue to grow in that direction.

What brought us together is the love of the sport, we will surely develop recreational running events well and together influence a healthier nation, influence that as many people as possible get involved in the Belgrade Marathon races, and above all in the largest event in Serbia, with the most participants, and that will from next April be the 37th edition of the Comtrade Belgrade Marathon. I would like to thank you on behalf of everyone behind the Belgrade Marathon and all the participants in our races, with the ultimate goal that their satisfaction comes first. We will work on it together," said Darko Habus.

Veselin Jevrosimovic, the owner of Comtrade, said that this company invests in sports that promote a healthy lifestyle and he is honored that tens of thousands of competitors will wear the Comtrade logo.
