Dacic offers condolences to family of Istvan Pasztor: "Friend and tireless fighter for Serbia's progress"
First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic has offered his condolences after the death of the President of the Assembly of the Autonomous Province (AP) Vojvodina Istvan Pasztor to his family and the Association of Vojvodina Hungarians.
"It was with great sadness that I received the news that Istvan Pasztor, a friend and tireless fighter for the progress of Serbia as a modern and tolerant community of all its citizens and peoples, has left us," said Dacic.
He added that Pasztor "with his wisdom and great energy led the Hungarian national community in Serbia through cooperation and unity, which will be remembered as his historical legacy," reports Tanjug.
"Serbia was richer with Istvan Pasztor and his work, so his departure will leave an indelible mark, but also an obligation for all of us to continue living in harmony and dedication to the progress and future of Serbia. I offer my sincere condolences to the family of Istvan Pasztor and his Association of Vojvodina Hungarians," stated Dacic.
President of the Assembly of AP Vojvodina and leader of the Association of Vojvodina Hungarians Istvan Pasztor died on Monday at the age of 68, after battling a serious illness.
