As we previously reported, Zoran Savic, who worked as a cameraman for Radio and Television of Serbia (RTS), died two months after suffering a heart attack during a live broadcast.

Zoran had a heart attack during the broadcasting of the show "One Good Day" on August 24, at Belgrade's river resort Ada Ciganlija.

On this occasion, we contacted the press service of the Serbia's public broadcaster, considering that inappropriate comments about RTS have appeared on social networks.

We carry their response in its entirety, without any changes.

"It is inappropriate that such a tragic event and the death of our colleague is being used for the purpose of attacking RTS. At his own request, Zoran Savic participated in the realization of shows with shorter shifts outside the television studios. We note that RTS adheres to all the recommendations and warnings from competent institutions about work conditions under extraordinary circumstances, although individuals maliciously and tendentiously cite working in bad and unacceptable conditions in the field as the cause of Zoran's heart attack. On that day, as well as the previous ones, no warning was issued regarding working outdoors, related to high temperatures.

We also point out the fact that within our system there are professions that are subject to annual health evaluation. Zoran Savic had his regular checks in April 2023, and the report confirms that Zoran was able to perform the job of cameraman, which he was hired to do. In these painful moments, above all for the family and the loved ones, as well as for all of us who have worked with Zoran for decades, we are saying goodbye to a wonderful colleague and a good man."
