Three migrants were killed in an armed conflict that took place this morning in the abandoned buildings of the former agricultural estate Backa in the area of Horgos, close to Serbia's northern border with Hungary.

As confirmed for Telegraf.rs by the Ministry of Interior of Serbia (MUP), three bodies were found, as well as one wounded person, who was transported to the hospital.

The killings and injuries occurred in a clash between two groups of migrants.

The shooting took place outside of Horgos, but residents of that village are alarmed and have been reporting on social networks since early this morning that shooting which lasted a long time could be heard from the border zone.

Strong police forces are on the ground looking for the perpetrators, while the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Subotica has been informed about the events.
