Djuric reacts to Hovenier's statement: Supporting KBS transforation into army strengthens Pristina's extremism
"Support for KSF transformation, phased or immediate, in to a heavily armed military force, does not contribute to the dialogue process, defusing of tensions or normalizing relations in our region," Djuric posted on X
Regarding the statement of the US ambassador in Pristina, Jeffrey Hovenier, who said that the US supports the transformation of the KBS ("Kosovo Security Forces") into an army, the Serbian ambassador to the US, Marko Djuric, reacted by saying that such support does not contribute to dialogue, calming tensions and normalizing relations.
"Support for KSF transformation, phased or immediate, in to a heavily armed military force, does not contribute to the dialogue process, defusing of tensions or normalizing relations in our region," Djuric posted on X, writes Kosovo Online.
He added that KSF transformation in to a standing army runs directly against UN Security Council Resolution 1244 and the Kumanovo Military-Technical agreement.

"All this aside, supporting KSF tranformation in this political moment in Kosovo* only empowers and rewards an extreme government in Pristina driven by an ethno-nationalist agenda, under whose watch 11% of Kosovo Serbs already left Kosovo. Dialogue remains the only way forward, and for it to have any success we should not further encourage those who undermine it blatantly," wrote Djuric.
