Chaos avoided in Leipzig: Local fans tried to provoke Red Star supporters with Albanian flag, security reacts

Red Star (Crvena Zvezda) footballers were defeated (3-1 (1-0)) during the Champions League 3rd round group stage in Leipzig, although in the second half they showed that they were able to compete with the German team.

There were over 4,000 Red Star fans, known as Delije, in the stands of the stadium in Germany, and during the match they managed to be louder than even the much more numerous domestic fans.

However, during the game a big scandal almost happened, when a small group of fans of the German club approached Delije and started provoking them by showing an Albanian flag. A video of that incident has appeared on social networks.

It shows a minor commotion, after which security reacted quickly and removed the three perpetrators with the flag of Albania from the stadium.

They managed to maintain order and no major scandal broke out in the stands.
