KFOR announced today that British soldiers from the NATO Strategic Reserve Force are conducting patrols along the administrative line between Kosovo and Metohija and central Serbia, providing engineering tools to improve security at a local school.

In a statement published on the mission's Facebook account, it is recalled that the unit was mobilized after the rise of tensions in Kosovo and Metohija, "to ensure the ability of KFOR to fulfill its mandate, to maintain a safe environment for all communities."

"British soldiers from NATO's Strategic Reserve Force, conduct patrols along the Administrative Boundary Line and provide engineer assets to help improve safety at a local school in Kosovo. The unit was mobilized following increased tensions in Kosovo, in order to ensure KFOR's ability to fulfill its mandate of maintaining a safe and secure environment for all communities in Kosovo," the statement said.

A contingent of 200 British soldiers, as well as 130 soldiers from Romania, arrived in Kosovo on October 6 to reinforce the KFOR mission following the events in Banjska in the north of the province on September 24.
