Big police operation in Belgrade: Gang busted, 2 women among them, 200 kilos of drugs found
The value of the confiscated marijuana is almost 2 million euros
In a major operation carried out by the Fourth Department of the Belgrade Police and the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade, seven suspects have been arrested, including two women.
This came after a marijuana plantation was discovered in the suburban Belgrade settlement of Palilula.
About 200 kilograms of marijuana, worth almost two million euros, were discovered and seized.
On the plantation where marijuana was grown and dried in most modern conditions, close to central Belgrade, besides drugs ready for sale, hundreds of plants were also found.
Some of the suspects were caught in the act, while performing "work" on the plantation and in the drug-growing laboratory.
According to unofficial information, Vladimir L. (45), Aleksandar L. (32), Sandra J. (33), Katarina B. (39), Mladen I. (41), Vladimir K. (45), and Aleksandar G. (39) were arrested in this large-scale operation by the police and the prosecutor's office, on suspicion of conspiring to produce and traffic narcotic drugs.
