Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said last night that the visit to China is very important in difficult times. He announced important meetings and the signing of important agreements with China, as well as bilateral meetings with President of China Xi Jinping, and with Wang Huning, "the Chinese Kissinger."

"We will sign documents on overall cooperation, free trade, which is of particular importance for our country, and the clearing of yuan for our banks. These are fundamental agreements, and there will be important traffic and infrastructure agreements," announced the president of Serbia.

Vucic pointed to the campaign against him in the opposition media, regarding the opposition complaining about election conditions.

"Each of them thinks they are much smarter and is surprised that the people don't want them. To find the real reason why it's like that, well they can't say they're not smart and hardworking enough. The 'real reason' is always in the media, in the dictatorship, the rule of terror and everything else, which is always an excuse and which is always a way to create problems and some kind of protests after the elections, as they have done every time. They have never congratulated someone on a victory in the elections. Never! I doubt that it will happen this time, but first let's see the results of the election... It seems to me that, according to my own research, they have a big advantage, this agency of theirs, 'Stata' said so... I congratulate them on that, and we will try to fight," said Vucic.

He said that it is unheard of for the opposition media to be happy about measures against anyone in their own country.

"What a smart person is ashamed of, a fool is proud of. Instead of keeping quiet about it and pretending not to know what is happening, they seem to be bragging that they have cooperation with those who will seek punitive measures against Serbia. First, let's see if there will be any, and then let's see why there will be any and what Serbia has done," said the president.

Last night, the president spoke at a ceremonial event marking the 70th anniversary of the Vecernje Novosti media outlet.
