The Movement of Socialists, whose founder is Aleksandar Vulin, addressed the public today on the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of the October 5 coup in Serbia.

The party founded by Vulin announced that Serbia will never again allow the dosniks (DOS - the name of over a dozen opposition parties at the time) and Western embassies to destroy and defeat it.

"We gathered today in front of the Serbian National Assembly building, which was set on fire on October 5, 2000 - with the purpose of hiding election results and destroying all the documents from electoral commissions and the ballots cast (in the election held on Sept. 24, 2000), and their goal was to hide the fact that their DOS candidate, Vojislav Kostunica, lost that (presidential) election. We remind the public that on October 5, the government in Serbia was overthrown violently, that the money came from the West, and that the sovereignty of the SRJ (Serbia and Montenegro) was destroyed.

On that day, with the help of Western embassies and local tycoons, the yellow scum (reference to one of the Democratic Party colors - yellow and blue) were brought to power. The legacy of that DOS government is predatory privatization, 500,000 people thrown out of their factories. The heroes of our homeland were hunted down like beasts and sent to The Hague, and that is why the terrorists Albin Kurti, and the Mazrekaj brothers who raped a Serb girl, and 2,000 other criminals, were immediately set free.

The DOS members plundered and ravaged Serbia. New elections are ahead of us and we are witnessing that those defeated DOS forces have been gathering again since October 5, the western left and the fake right are gathering again, they are ready to unite again for the sake of overthrowing a legitimate government. But the Movement of Socialists says that there will never be a change of government in the streets again, the citizens of Serbia will not allow it anymore," said Bojan Torbica, a deputy in the Serbian Assembly from the ranks of the Movement of Socialists.

"On October 5 (2000), no revolution happened, it was a coup. On October 5, the dosniks, despite the will of the people, set fire to the Assembly and to the election material, came to power in that waym and devastated Serbia. The biggest legacy of Democrats is a Serbia without Montenegro, the March (2004) pogrom (of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija), the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo (in 2008), predatory privatizations, 500,000 laid-off workers, Serbia on the verge of bankruptcy.

That is why it is important that October 5 is always marked as the day when the greatest evil occurred in Serbia."

"Never again must Serbia allow the 'yellows' to make a comeback," said the president of the Belgrade City Board of the Movement of Socialists, Vladimir Ilic.
