Orlic: Serbia is in favor of explicit compliance with all provisions of the Dayton Agreement
President of the Assembly of Serbia Vladimir Orlic has stated that Serbia, as a guarantor of the Dayton Agreement is in favor of strict compliance with all its provisions and pointed out that there is nothing controversial in the special ties between Serbia and RS (Serb entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina).
"When we talk about the integrity and sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia always says that it respects them without reservation. For us, that is a rule from which we do not deviate and we expect everyone to treat us in the same way," Orlic told RTRS.
He said that the special ties between Serbia and RS are established by relevant agreements and that the result of those relations are numerous infrastructure projects that have been jointly implemented or are being implemented in every part of RS, but also in some parts of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) entity.
He stressed that, in the interest of the Serb people, official representatives of RS and Serbia should always enjoy best possible relations. Speaking about Kosovo and Metohija, Orlic assessed that the situation in the southern Serbian province is very difficult and that a campaign of terrorizing Serbs is being organized and carried out by the prime minister of the provisional institutions of Pristina, Albin Kurti, "with the ultimate goal - a Kosovo without Serbs."
"Everything that happened is the result of the brutality led by Kurti with the intention of provoking an open conflict that would lead to escalation. He wants to provoke any reaction among the Serbs who can no longer tolerate terror, in order to take advantage of this and draw Serbia into a conflict with NATO," said Orlic. He pointed out that it is not in Serbia's interest to see such escalation.
"Every claim that escalation, like what happened in the village of Banjaska, suits Serbia, is the most perfidious lie," said Orlic and added that it is clear to everyone that such a thing is in Kurti's interest.
He pointed out that Serbia wants dialogue and sustainable solutions preserving peace and stability.
"Discussion is an incomparably better solution than any violence, but Kurti is the one who does not want dialogue at all," said Orlic.
Orlic added that no member of the police of self-proclaimed Kosovo has the right to be present in the Serb areas in the north and that this was determined by agreements which Kurti is now violating.
