Office for Kosovo and Metohija issues urgent statement

This morning in the north of Kosovo and Metohija a brutal and excessive demonstration of force took place by (Albin) Kurti and his special forces, who, armed to the teeth, violently stormed the Clinical-Hospital Center (KBC) in Kosovska Mitrovica, as well as several other private facilities in the north.

Demostrating terror, members of the Rosu unit broke down the door at the entrance to the KBC, ransacked certain rooms and, armed to the teeth, marched through this main Serb healthcare facility in Kosovo and Metohija, although the management told them that there was no need for a demonstration of force and that they were free to look at what they were interested in, the Office for Kosovo and Metohija announced.

About 15 Rosu armored vehicles took part in this, and the entire action was observed from the sidelines, without any reaction, by members of EULEX (EU mission in Kosovo and Metohija).

This event caused additional shock and fear among both the patients and the employees, and Kurti's police officers deliberately chose the time when employees arrive at work and children go to schools and kindergartens for their demonstration of force and the parading of armored vehicles, in order to create more distress in the Serb community.

100 of the most serious patients from the general department of the KBC who witnessed this brutal and unannounced action are in a particularly severe state of shock, as well as the children attending a medical high school who were arriving at the hospital at this time for traininig.

It is clear that Kurti and his police are using the events of last Sunday in Banjska as an excuse for continuing the terror in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, and this action was carried out with the clear aim of there being no peace in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, and preventing the Serb community from living under normal conditions, getting medical treatment and taking children to school without fear of raids carried out by armed "phalanxes," said the Office.

KBC Kosovska Mitrovica has formed a commission for assessing and remediating the damage caused by the raid of the Rosu unit this morning.
