The 171st football Belgrade derby between the country's two biggest clubs, Partizan and Red Star (Crvena Zvezda), known as "the Eternal Derby," that was scheduled for Wednesday will have to wait for a better moment.

Because the government declared Wednesday a day of mourning for Serbs killed in Kosovo and Metohija in clashes with the so-called Kosovo police, a decision was made to postpone this big match.

Due to the delicate situation, it was decided that this is not a time play football while the Serb people are experiencing difficult moments.

In a skirmish near Banjska in northern of Kosovo and Metohija, several Serbs were killed, and among them, a Red Star fan, S.N. (31) from Zvecan, to whom his fellow supporters are saying goodbye on social media.

Earlier in the day, information appeared about a potential postponement of the game, and the SuperLiga Association has now made it official.

A new date and time for the game will be announced in a timely manner, in agreement with the clubs and broadcasters.
