President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said last night that he never considered appointing Marko Djuric (currently Serbia's ambassador to the US) as the head of the Security Intelligence Agency (BIA).

"Marko Djuric in BIA, I never even thought about it. I don't read that newspaper, I can't even read that nonsense. No one reads that. Whether some of them were in some embassy on some couch, (discussing) how must they bring me down and this and that will happen... Marko Djuric never crossed my mind for BIA. I never thought about it in my life," he said.

Asked to comments on US Ambassador to Serbia Christopher Hill saying that after the negotiations in Brussels, he is against "imposed solutions" - and how he views that, Vucic said that even Hill knows that imposed solutions do not solve the problem.

"My opinion is not all good since 1999 and after that and in today's politics, not so good, unlike (that of) the owner of this television, but Mr. Hill is an intelligent and educated man and he knows that nothing comes from imposed solutions and that real compromises must be reached. That's a wise and serious approach," he added.

Asked how he reacts to articles by certain political commentators, that the West via Hill is not allowing elections to be called and that this is the reason why he is procrastinating in calling them - because they are afraid that there will be no political mechanism in Serbia that would implement the obligations from the German-French agreement - Vucic said that he has been listening to this kind of thing for 11 years.

"I have been listening to this for 11 years, their lies, the lies of patriots, who would destroy this country, who destroyed and lost Montenegro. They had to take Montenegro from us from the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in order to be able to make a decision on independence of Kosovo. All those incompetents from Jovanovic to Dveri were directly or indirectly part of that government," he said.

He added that the essence is always in the "modus operandum," that is, in the way of lying.

"We lied for an hour, we only lied 500 times, another lie tomorrow, another lie the day after tomorrow. And what will we do if elections are held in December or January, what will they say then? Will they say that Hill banned it, of course they won't, they will deny," he said.

Vucic stressed that it is impossible for someone to tell him when elections will be held and that this is the case in serious countries.

"They (opposition) know how it was during their time (in power). You know how it was, Misko and another businessman would gather them and then they go and call a 'yellow' and a 'red' from the Democratic Party and the SPS and say, the government will be like this and you will put it together like this," Vucic said.

He added that he is proud of the fact that no one can decide for him who will be in the government, when elections will be held and when a cabinet will be formed.

"It's part of the sovereignty of this country, part of freedom, part of independence, and that is why Serbia today makes films about Jasenovac and builds memorial centers. That is why Serbia is not ashamed of its name and last name and dares and has the strength to help, not only its people, but all citizens. We have no problem with Bosniaks, we are one people. Anyone who lives in Novi Pazar or Sarajevo. Only a strong Serbia can say that. We have no problem with that, that's why we want to build a highway, so you can get to Sarajevo faster," he added.
