Hungarian citizen M.P.L. (43), who, two days ago, drove his Kia car off the Nis-Leskovac highway near Brestovac in southern Serbia, is in a serious, life-threatening condition.

Telegarf.rs has learned that he had emergency surgery at the University Clinical Center Nis, and the doctors are still fighting to save him.

His wife was killed in the accident, while their two children were injured.

Both - twin 19-month-old girls - have been hospitalized at the Children's Surgery and Orthopedic Clinic of the University Clinical Center Nis.

"After a complete diagnostic according to the trauma protocol, it was determined that one of the patients (children) had an injury - a cut on her tongue, which was immediately surgically repaired by maxillofacial surgeons, as well as a fracture of the right upper arm, which, according to the doctors, is currently treated conservatively. When it comes to the other patient, she has no injuries other than bruises," the hospital where the girls are treated said.
