Several opposition parties, including the DS, the Freedom and Justice Party and the Green and Left Front, today requested the calling of early parliamentary elections, as well as local elections in the City of Belgrade by the end of the year.

Zoran Lutovac, leader of the Democratic Party (DS), assessed at a press conference held in front of the Presidency that the society is in a deep economic, political and social crisis and that, in his opinion, there is no will to get out of it and that is why they want elections.

Lutovac said that today the opposition submitted a formal request to the Presidency and that they want a quick answer.

"We expect an answer very soon, or we will undertake everything necessary in the National Assembly and outside it to exert pressure to get an answer," said Lutovac and stressed that they are not looking for just any, but free and fair elections.
