The Serbian basketball team has left Manila for Belgrade - after winning silver at the Basketball World Cup!

The basketballers should arrive in the capital somewhere between 10.30 and 11.00, and when they got on an Air Srbija plane sent specially for them from Belgrade, they received thunderous applause.

Although Serbia was defeated in the final game by Germany, the mood when our athletes got on the plane was excellent. Borisa Simanic, who was seriously injured (he lost a kidney) during one of the games, is with the rest of the team - a special section of the aircraft has been prepared for him.

"A bed has been installed in the back of the plane where Simanic will travel, and the medical team will be with him. Doctors from the Dragisa Misovic Clinic arrived the night before last. They, the physiotherapist and I will be with him. Of course, also both his mother and girlfriend. I only ask that you respect his privacy. He had surgery seven days ago, it's all still fresh. He is fine generally, but he can get tired easily. I'm just asking for some privacy," Dr. Dragan Radovanovic told the Serbian press.
