Petkovic: Kosovo Serb Pantic released from house arrest pending outcome of trial
Pantic was released pending trial
Former Kosovo policeman Dejan Pantic was arrested at the beginning of December last year on suspicion of participating in an alleged attack on the premises of the Election Commission in the north of Kosovska Mitrovica. He was released from house arrest, pending the outcome of his trial.
Yesterday, the director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, reacted to this news on Twitter.
"Dejan Pantic, who was first held by the Kosovo police at the base in Jarinje for days without medication or contact with his family, and who was transferred to house arrest only after strong pressure from Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija and diplomatic action from Belgrade at the end of the year, was today released until the end of the trial!," Petkovic wrote, and added:
"Dejan's house arrest was lifted on bail and he will finally be able to be free. Both he and his family went through a true ordeal, but they received some good news. Serbia does not forget her innocently arrested compatriots and will continue the fight for each of them!"
