Stefan is New Belgrade hero: He saw pervert groping girl from his balcony, called victim's father and police

B.K. (36) from Bezanijska Kosa has been detained for up to 30 days on Monday on suspicion that he kissed and inappropriately touched a girl with special needs on a park bench, and tried to take her home with him. A criminal complaint was filed against him for illicit sexual acts.

Who knows what would have happened to the child if Stefan B. had not seen this abuse happening, from the balcony of his apartment. He immediately called the girl's father, so together they tried to catch the suspect. He then gave a description to the police, who quickly arrested him.

At the request of the Third Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade, the pervert was put in custody.

"We heard that our neighbor Stefan was sitting on the balcony, while the girl who is from our building was in the park. At one point, he saw that an unknown man sat down next to her. Then he hugged her and started kissing and touching her. Stefan immediately called the girl's father and we heard that they chased the pervert together. He was arrested by a patrol from New Belgrade," says one of the residents in the building in Partizanske Avijacija.

The investigation is led by the Third Basic Public Prosecutor's Office, which intends to hear witnesses during the proceedings, as well as the girl in the presence of her parents.

B.K. has not had previous arrests on charges of illicit sexual acts.
